Counselling in West Norwood

I am an accredited Counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework. I am also a Bupa recognised therapist.

Counselling can help you explore and work through emotional difficulties you may be experiencing that may be affecting your behaviour and/or mind.

These difficulties may be from your past that are now causing issues for you or from a new trauma you have experienced in your life such as a relationship break-up, loss of someone close to you or that life is just getting on top of you.

You may find being assertive is uncomfortable, you may have a low self-worth, lack of confidence, or suffer with anxiety or depression.

Counselling aims to support you make sense of your struggles, within a confidential, safe and non-judgemental environment.

Approaches

As an Integrative Counsellor I can use a variety of approaches that best support you; these include:

  • Humanistic
  • Psychodynamic
  • Inter-cultural
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
  • Solution focused
  • Spiritual

Also, I work creatively using art, written exercises and visualisation's.

I have worked extensively with addictions and the suppressed inner child. I have come to believe the most important relationship we ever have is the one with ourselves.

Sessions

It is usually best to start off with a minimum of six sessions to give counselling a fair trial. We will then discuss together if there is a requirement to extend your number of sessions to meet your needs.

The initial meeting is to discuss issues you feel are causing you difficulty in your life at present and explore what you hope to achieve from counselling.

At this point you decide whether counselling is for you and also if we can work together.

Long and short term counselling contracts are offered depending on your needs.

All sessions are for a therapeutic hour of 50 minutes.

I also offer Telephone, Skype and Zoom sessions.
